What makes a group, at work, great?

Culture.

Culture creates the success or the failure of a group. Culture comes from the latin word cultus which means “to care.” So when someone asks you about your culture, they are, essentially, asking you about what you care about.

This week, we discuss culture, what we care about, and groups as part of findings from the book “The Culture Code” by Daniel Coyle. We share our thoughts, good and bad, on the book and the studies Dan conducted with the Navy Seals, the San Antonio Spurs, a comedy troupe, and an inner city school.

Our goal is to continue creating belonging, autonomy and competence within our groups/culture. Remember that every culture needs to be one that is willing to give up blame and also own it as a whole.
