This week, we are discussing the way the mind works and why it matters to you. More specifically, comparison and how it will get you nowhere… except tired, worn out, and feeling worse. There are a few functions of the mind that we will discuss: judging, comparing, and fixing. Additionally, within this context, it has two jobs: going into the past and going into the future. How we relate to this changing landscape of the “monkey mind” really matters to our well-being and can, ultimately, bring us some fantastic benefits.

We go into detail about these three functions of the brain, how they affect us, and how we can handle them properly. As always, we have some “homework” for you: can you notice when the mind is judging another, or comparing yourself to someone else, or driving hard to the hoop to fix something without asking if it is yours to fix? What do these mind states feel like in your body?

We’d love to hear your thoughts and the results of your own experimentation and experiences. Thank you so much for listening!
