In this week’s podcast Katie and I talk all about meditation. The concept of mindfulness and meditation have come into vogue more and more in leadership and within organizations. While meditation has been around for thousands of years, it has typically been viewed as something that only men in robes hiding in a cave participate in. However, thankfully that myth is behind us. Meditation isn’t reserved just for guru’s. As a matter of fact, meditation has been found to be an effective intervention for cardiovascular disease, chronic pain, anxiety and panic disorders but what we’re really talking about is enhancing your life, not just removing disease.
While removing the things in our life that we don’t want is fantastic, what about adding in more of the parts of our life that we do want? Well, meditation is one of the great ways that we can do that? Those who meditate have been found to have greater coherence through regions of the brain, improved attention and sensory processing. We also talk about how you can use the experience of meditation and bring it into your every day life to experience the full joy of life and influence your leadership for the better. And we even give a really great reference to a meditation app that you can use. Check it out right here.
