This week’s podcast is all about emotional contagion. Ever felt like you were catching the negative Nellie’s from someone before? Yes, that’s emotional contagion. Katie and I take this topic all the way down the rabbit hole and even go as far as to say that there aren’t really any such thing as negative emotions; there is only emotion.
Nevertheless, does this mean I’m positive all the time…like Pollyanna? Well, no. No one is positive all the time. That’s the whole point. However, if we’re blaming and complaining, that’s a whole other story. Our feelings of anger and sadness (the two we really get uncomfortable talking about) are all valid parts of our experience and just learning how to be with them is really the big ride. Mostly, we want to pretend that they aren’t there. Well, that just doesn’t work very well does it? Listen in and let us know how you feel.
